The Colorado D-STAR Association was formed by
ARES Organizations,
established amateur radio clubs, and individual members, to promote the use of digital voice and data communication
technologies—D-STAR—in Colorado.
The Colorado D-STAR Association repeater is ON THE AIR!
Join us at 2000 hours on Tuesday evening for the D-Star Net Port B on the W0CDS repeater (446.9625).
See more D-STAR nets here (courtesy Georgia D-STAR) and Denver area nets here.
An open digital voice and data protocol specification, D-STAR (Digital Smart Technologies for Amateur Radio) was born in Japan as a result of trying to find a new way of bringing digital
technology to amateur radio. The project was overseen by the Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL) and funded by the Japanese
government.
Although D-STAR is an open protocol, Icom is the
only vendor to offer RF products to date.
